This alarm uses photoelectric sensing technology for the smoke alarm. Photoelectric sensing alarms may detect visible particles (associated with smoldering fires) sooner than ionization alarms. Ionization sensing alarms may detect invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms.
